Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce that the first group of candidates from the 7th edition of the First Level Master in CBRNe has successfully completed their course. They are now officially recognized as graduates of the program.
Today, we witnessed three remarkable and innovative thesis presentations:
• Dr. Michele Sibio, from the Italian Customs Agency, presented his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Riccardo Quaranta, titled: “Integration of CBRNe Technologies in European Customs: An Analysis of Detection Architecture and the EU CCEI Customs Control Equipment Instrument.”
• Dr. Elfriede Thiessen, a Dutch nurse specializing in emergency and ambulance services, and an expert in hazardous goods regulations and chemistry, presented her thesis under the supervision of Prof. Daniele Di Giovanni, titled: “Assessing the Effectiveness of Full-Face Air Purifying Respirators for Military Medical Personnel in Extreme Environments.”
• Cpt. Igor Van Drunen, of the Dutch Army, presented his thesis under the supervision of Prof. Andrea Malizia and Prof. Steve Johnson (Cranfield University), titled: “Quantitative Analysis of Homemade Explosives Trends in The Netherlands.”
The evaluation committee commended the candidates for their excellent work and dedication throughout the course.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our Didactic Coordinators, Dr. Alba Iannotti and Dr. Colomba Russo, for their invaluable contributions.
