
Rome, 21 March 2025 – As part of the ongoing activities of EU CBRN CoE Project 100 – Strengthening Front Line Biosafety and Biosecurity Measures in the South East and Eastern European Region, a Tabletop Exercise (TTX) on biological risk was conducted at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
The activity was organized by HESAR, under the direction of Dr. Alba Iannotti and Dr. Colomba Russo, in collaboration with the CBRNe Master Courses – University of Rome Tor Vergata and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The international delegation was divided into groups and participated actively in a simulated scenario focused on biological threats. The Tabletop Exercise aimed to foster discussion, teamwork, and critical decision-making skills relevant to biosafety and biosecurity in emergency contexts.

At the conclusion of the exercise, an Attendance Certificate Ceremony was held. Certificates of participation were signed and delivered by:

• Dr. Gunay Rzayeva, Coordinator of the Delegation
• The CBRNe Master Working Group
In their closing remarks, both Prof. Malizia and Dr. Mutovkin emphasized the value of international collaboration in confronting current and future CBRNe challenges. The activity reaffirmed the importance of shared training experiences, inter-agency coordination, and capacity building to strengthen collective preparedness and response capabilities.
